About Us
Mako has been providing quality engineering services since April 2021. Since its conception Mako has followed an ethos of ALWAYS putting Clients first. Other consultancies can be hard to reach, and slow to respond whereas we have made it our rule to return every phone call, every day. Euan and Michael come from very different Land Development experience, and therefore Mako is well positioned to offer a full range of well-informed advice from a combined 16 years of experience. Whether it be an Auckland medium density terraced unit development, or a rural lifestyle block, we have done it before.
Euan
Based in Auckland
Euan is very pragmatic in his personal and professional setting. This trait makes him very outcome-driven, and allows him to overcome the largest of challenges.
Euan has been working in the Civil Engineering industry for over 7 years. He learnt the trade in a well-known medium sized multi-disciplinary consultancy, as well as leading the Civil Team for the past 3 years. He has specialised in medium density infill developments, and has worked for some of the most demanding Clients that operate within this space with great success. Euan understands the common constraints with medium density developments, and has a good grasp on what Auckland Council expects when submitting applications for these types of land development. Euan is focused on providing unparalleled customer service, and best practice solution to Engineering problems.
In a past life he was a SCUBA instructor in tropical Dunedin, a role which taught him the value of good customer service. He also has a young daughter which keeps him busy outside of work!
Michael
Based in Ruakaka, 20 minutes south of Whangerei
Having worked on projects throughout New Zealand and abroad, Michael is not afraid to learn new skills that come with dealing with an array of Territorial Authorities and contextual constraints. He has a keen interest in optimising workflows to ensure that Clients get outcomes in a timely manner, and clearly communicating solutions that work.
He has been active in the Civil Engineering Industry for over 9 years. He has been the Lead Engineer on a number of large subdivisions, with knowledge in managing projects, and designing 3-water and roading infrastructure. He has a passion for helping those unfamiliar with the development process and will go out of his way to get results, and understands the importance of communication with all stakeholders involved.
